FRONTLINE® WORMER for cats is a broad-spectrum cat worming tablet that kills the intestinal worms commonly found in cats in the UK: both roundworms and tapeworms.
It’s meat-flavoured and can be given with or without food, making it easier to give and enjoyable for your pet. FRONTLINE® WORMER is suitable for cats and kittens from 6 weeks of age and weighing at least 1 kg. It’s also licensed for use in nursing cats.

In certain circumstances, it may be advised to give cat worm treatment more frequently. For example, if your pet lives with small children or an immunocompromised adult, or where your pet has a higher risk of infection. In these cases, or if your cat has a heavy roundworm infection, we recommend contacting your vet for further advice.

What types of worms does FRONTLINE ® WORMER deal with?
FRONTLINE® Wormer kills all common intestinal worms found in the UK: roundworms, tapeworms, hookworms and whipworms.
How often should I worm my cat?
Regular use of cat worm medicine is part of responsible cat ownership – it helps to protect our pets, ourselves and others. Read more about why worming your cat is important and the risk of not doing so.
Experts recommend treating cats for intestinal worms at least four times a year.1 However, more frequent use of deworming tablets for cats may be needed in certain cases – for example, cats who enjoy hunting, if you have children, if there are pregnant women, elderly or immunosuppressed individuals in your home, or if you suspect your cat has had fleas. Always follow the advice of your vet who can recommend the frequency that works for your cat’s circumstances.

Do I need to worm my kitten?
Kittens can become infected with worms by their mothers, so it’s important to worm them. FRONTLINE® WORMER can be given once a month to kittens weighing at least 1 kg from weaning (at 6 weeks) until 6 months of age.
How do I know if I need to worm my cat?
We shouldn’t wait until we start seeing signs of worms before giving worming treatment to cats, because infections don’t always show signs until they’re severe. Signs of worms in cats can include a bloated tummy, diarrhoea, stomach upsets and a change in appetite (but these signs are not specific to worm infections – they can indicate other issues).
Worm eggs are microscopic, but you might see worm segments (looking like grains of rice) in your cat’s fur, around their bum, or in their bed, poo or vomit. Find out more about the symptoms of worms in cats.
Do indoor cats need worming?
Yes, cat deworming tablets should still be given even if your cat doesn’t go outdoors but worming can be carried out less frequently, such as once or twice a year. This is because they could still pick up worms from other sources – such as other pets in your home, eggs carried into the home (for example, on people’s shoes) or if they have fleas and ingest them while grooming. If you’re unsure if your cat has fleas, there are some common signs of fleas to look out for.
Is my cat more at risk from worms at certain times of year?
No, cats can pick up worms at any time throughout the year, so it’s important to keep up with worm treatment for cats. Worm eggs can survive in the environment for several years and infect your cat anywhere they explore.
